DX Designer
At Verda, we're building a fully featured European AI cloud, covering everything needed to train, experiment with, and deploy AI models at scale.
We are a full-stack AI infrastructure company, meaning we design, operate, and optimize the compute powering modern AI workloads across training and inference. Our infrastructure runs on 100% renewable energy, helping build a more sustainable AI ecosystem.
Join Verda while it’s still being built - not once it’s finished.
About the role
We're looking for a DX Designer to own the experience of interacting with Verda as a developer: CLI, API, documentation, and the growing surface of AI-assisted tooling and agents.
This is a role for someone who is technically curious and genuinely excited about where developer tools are going. You'll work at the intersection of product design and developer advocacy, exploring and improving the end-to-end journey of a customer who configures, deploys, and manages cloud compute programmatically. AI is reshaping how developers interact with infrastructure, and agents, natural language interfaces, and smarter defaults are becoming baseline expectations. You'll be exploring that frontier alongside the product.
It’s important to have a working understanding of what you're designing: how APIs are structured and called, what it means to configure Kubernetes workloads or storage, how inference pipelines are set up. You should be comfortable enough with these concepts to design confidently around them, and curious enough to go deeper when the work demands it.
Your responsibilities
You will work alongside Engineering teams to map and improve the end-to-end developer journey for customers interacting with Verda programmatically, across the CLI, API, SDK and beyond.
You will design AI-assisted and agentic UX interactions that simplify developer workflows, reducing cognitive load rather than adding new interfaces to learn.
You will own documentation UX: structure, findability, and how docs connect to product flows.
You will define and apply design patterns specific to developer-facing surfaces, including error messages, CLI output, API response design, authentication flows, and onboarding for programmatic users.
You will identify and resolve friction in developer workflows, working closely with Product and Engineering to prioritise and implement improvements.
You will collaborate with the product design team to align DX patterns with the broader console design language.
Your key competencies
4+ years of experience in UX or product design, with a focus on developer-facing products
Experience designing CLIs, APIs, SDKs, docs, or developer portals
Coding experience, enough to have strong opinions about developer ergonomics and validate flows hands-on
Ability to prototype interactions and flows at varying levels of fidelity, from quick concept sketches to functional prototypes that can be tested with real developers
Hands-on familiarity with cloud compute concepts: instances, storage, networking, Kubernetes, inference workloads
Understanding of how APIs are structured and what good API interaction design looks like from a user perspective
Strong systems thinking: DX surfaces are interconnected and changes ripple across CLI, docs, console, and agents simultaneously
Genuine enthusiasm for AI and where it's taking developer tooling. You should be actively using AI tools in your own workflow
Ability to work closely with Product and Engineering and translate developer pain points into concrete design improvements
Strong communication skills and ability to articulate design decisions to technical stakeholders
Nice to have
Experience at a developer tools company, cloud provider, or infrastructure startup
Hands-on experience configuring cloud compute or writing scripts against cloud APIs
Familiarity with inference pipelines, model deployment, or ML infrastructure
Experience designing for AI-assisted or agentic workflows
Practicalities
Location: Helsinki
Hybrid mode: 3 days per week in the office
Employment type: Full-time and permanent
