About the role
Our site in Hamburg, Germany site needs someone who knows it inside out, the cooling type, the power available and used, every system, every dependency, every known risk. Someone who runs day-to-day operations hands-on, and steps up as the technical lead of the site when there's no site manager around.
We are looking for a Senior Data Center Technician to be that person. You will manage daily operations as the hands-on lead of your site, plan future installations and upgrades as more power becomes available, and lead build-outs as we grow. And as the site scales, you may be the one hiring and growing the team around you.
When installations happen or machines break down, the expected pace is "everything done yesterday." Communication here is open and upfront. Sites are mainly greenfield, with some retrofitting of older setups as technology advances.
What You Will Do
Install, configure, and maintain servers, storage systems, networking equipment, and other data center hardware.
Monitor data center environmental conditions — temperature, humidity, power — and respond to alerts.
Ensure uptime and availability of data center infrastructure in a 24/7 environment, including participation in on-call.
Lead or contribute to data center build-outs, migrations, and refresh projects — including opening new data halls and extensions.
Plan and schedule machine installations independently, and plan future site upgrades as power capacity grows.
Collaborate closely with remote hands teams, network engineers, system administrators, the Site Manager, and Head of DC Operations.
Mentor junior technicians and, as the site grows, take part in hiring and building the on-site team.
What We Are Looking For
Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
3–5+ years of progressive data center or IT infrastructure experience.
Direct hands-on experience with enterprise GPU servers (NVIDIA Ampere, Hopper, or Blackwell generations).
Ability to operate independently and improvise — you don't need check-ins or supervision to know what matters.
Ability to work on-site full-time.
Strong Plus
Experience with liquid cooling — DLC loops, and maintenance of liquid cooling solutions.
Experience leading site build-outs, data hall openings, or large cluster deployments.
Experience mentoring or leading junior technicians.
What's Next
We're building fast and this role needs the right person behind it. There's no artificial deadline, but when we find who we're looking for, we move. If this sounds like your next move, apply now.
