About the role
As a Junior Hardware Engineer at Verda, you'll get your hands on real datacenter infrastructure from day one assembling servers, diagnosing faults, deploying GPU clusters, and supporting the hardware that powers some of Europe's most demanding AI workloads.
You'll work directly with experienced engineers who will help you grow fast. In return, we need someone who shows up with curiosity, a strong work ethic, and a readiness to get stuck in.
A driver's license is preferred, some work may require travel to datacenter sites.
What you'll do
Assemble and configure servers and hardware components (CPU, GPU, storage, networking equipment)
Rack, cable, and deploy servers in datacenter environments
Perform hardware diagnostics, testing, and benchmarking before deployment
Identify and replace faulty components (disks, GPUs, memory, power supplies)
Monitor server performance and troubleshoot issues using logs, error reports, and customer feedback
Support hardware and network operations in collaboration with engineering teams
Open, track, and follow up on support tickets with hardware vendors
Assist in planning, design, and testing of new hardware configurations
Maintain inventory and documentation of hardware assets
Support datacenter operations with daily tasks or installations as required
What we need from you
Hands-on experience with the Linux command line
Strong written and verbal English communication skills, including the ability to explain technical issues clearly
Vocational qualification in IT, electrical, electronics, or mechanical engineering
Readiness to work on-site in Helsinki, 5 days a week
Nice to have
Experience in a datacenter or hardware-related environment
Basic automation or scripting skills (e.g., Bash)
Previous experience in a technical support role
Driver's license
