Confidential Computing Virtualization Engineer
Imagine a future where sensitive workloads can run in the cloud with strong, verifiable guarantees about security and integrity.
At Verda, we’re building a fully featured European cloud computing platform, and confidential computing is a key part of enabling secure AI and data processing at scale. From CPU-level trust to GPU attestation, we’re working at the intersection of hardware, virtualization, and cryptographic trust.
Join Verda while it’s still being built - not once it’s finished!
Your responsibilities
In this role, you will help build, operate, and improve Verda’s confidential computing platform, enabling secure execution environments for sensitive workloads. You will deploy and maintain Confidential VM environments based on technologies such as AMD SEV-SNP and NVIDIA Confidential Computing, ensuring reliability and performance across the stack.
You will implement and manage attestation workflows for both CPU and GPU environments, enabling cryptographic verification of hardware and firmware integrity before workloads are executed. You will work closely with the infrastructure team to integrate confidential computing capabilities into Verda’s broader provisioning platform.
You will diagnose and resolve issues across multiple layers—including the host OS, hypervisor, and guest environments—while monitoring and documenting performance characteristics of confidential GPU workloads. You will also stay up to date with upstream developments such as kernel patches, firmware updates, and NVIDIA driver releases, evaluating their impact on the platform.
Your key competencies
Strong Linux fundamentals (Ubuntu/Debian), including system configuration and troubleshooting
Experience with Bash and Python for automation and tooling
Basic understanding of networking concepts (bridging, NAT, routing)
Familiarity with virtualization concepts such as hypervisors, VMs, and containers
Proficiency with Git
Strong curiosity and interest in security, systems, and low-level infrastructure
Ability to debug and reason across multiple layers of the stack
Nice to have
Hands-on experience with KVM, QEMU, or libvirt
Experience with confidential computing technologies such as AMD SEV or Intel TDX
NVIDIA GPU configuration and driver management on Linux
Understanding of hardware security concepts such as Secure Boot, UEFI, TPM, and remote attestation
Experience with containerization tools such as Docker or Podman
Familiarity with Linux kernel modules (vfio, virtio, vhost)
Experience with low-level programming (C or Rust)
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
Practicalities
Location: Helsinki, Finland (Hybrid) or Remote, EU
Employment type: Full-time and permanent
