Practicalities
Travel: Frequent travel
Relocation support: This role is based in Helsinki but we're flexible on where you currently live. We're happy to support relocation for the right person.
Employment type: Full-time and permanent
About the role
Verda is building Europe's AI infrastructure from the ground up — GPU clusters, owned data centers, and a procurement operation that spans hardware supply chains across Asia, North America, and Europe. The COO owns the execution of all of it: Data Center Operations, Construction, Global Expansions, Hardware, and Procurement.
We're looking for a Chief of Staff to the COO who has been inside this industry before. Not someone who will spend their first six months learning what a GPU cluster is, what TSMC means, or why Taiwan matters. Someone who already knows the supply chain, understands the hardware, and has operated close to the infrastructure decisions that actually move capacity.
You'll sit at the center of Verda's operational leadership connecting the COO's priorities to execution across functions, managing the global expansion program, and owning the things that need to get done without being told twice.
What you'll do
Own the COO's operational rhythm: priorities, meetings, follow-throughs, and open decisions all have a status you know and can report on at any moment.
Track and drive Verda's global DC expansion program. New site openings, construction milestones, procurement commitments, and regional launches across Taiwan, Japan, US, UK, and Europe, and surface risks before they become surprises.
Maintain visibility across strategic partner relationships and vendor engagements, GPU platform partners, hardware ODMs, colocation operators, and infrastructure partners ensuring the COO is prepared and that commitments are tracked.
Prepare materials for partner meetings, board touchpoints, vendor negotiations, and investor updates shaping the narrative, not formatting slides.
Coordinate between the COO and functional leads across DC Operations, Construction, Procurement, and Finance translating decisions into actions with clear accountability.
Drive specific projects end-to-end when the COO needs a trusted person on point: supply chain analysis, expansion planning, vendor due diligence, operational reviews.
Identify gaps between what's planned and what's happening, and bring them to the surface with a proposed path forward.
Represent the COO's priorities in cross-functional meetings when they can't be present with enough context to be genuinely useful, not just a proxy.
What we're looking for
Required
6–10 years of experience, with a meaningful portion spent inside the GPU cloud, AI infrastructure, data center, or semiconductor supply chain industry. We're looking for someone who came up through an AI hyperscaler, a specialist GPU cloud provider, a European sovereign cloud operator, or the infrastructure or supply chain division of a leading GPU platform company.
Deep familiarity with the hardware supply chain that underpins AI infrastructure: GPU procurement, ODM relationships, the Taiwan–Japan–US–EU-UK supplier corridor, and the dynamics that create lead time risk or capacity opportunity.
Exceptional at synthesizing complexity into clear, actionable outputs. You write a sharp one-pager that drives a decision, not a 40-slide deck that delays one.
Proven ability to operate at multiple altitudes, strategic planning on Monday, chasing a milestone update from a contractor in Tokyo on Tuesday. Neither is beneath you.
Strong stakeholder management: comfortable working with — and pushing back on — senior leaders, external partners, and vendors across cultures and time zones.
High trust, low ego. This role sits close to sensitive commercial, operational, and financial information. You handle that with discretion and judgment.
Fluent English; Mandarin/Japanese is a meaningful asset given our priority markets.
Strong plus
Direct experience working within the commercial or partnership organization of a leading GPU platform company understanding how supply allocation, partner tiers, and ecosystem programs actually work is a concrete advantage in this role.
Experience supporting a C-suite executive through a major expansion program, fundraise, or high-stakes vendor negotiation.
Prior Chief of Staff, strategy, or senior operations role at a company that was scaling fast — you've seen what breaks and what holds.
Existing relationships with infrastructure operators, hardware distributors, or capacity brokers in Taiwan, Japan, the US, or the UK.
What we offer
A front-row seat to how a European AI infrastructure company is built at scale, supply chain, construction, operations, and partnerships, all at once.
Direct access to senior decision-making with genuine influence, not just documentation.
A clear growth path: this role is a launchpad into functional leadership — Head of Operations, regional GM, or a strategic function as Verda scales.
Competitive senior compensation and meaningful early-stage equity.
What's next
We're building fast and this role needs the right person behind it. There's no artificial deadline, but when we find who we're looking for, we move. If this sounds like your next move, apply now.
