About the role
Verda is expanding its physical infrastructure footprint across Europe and beyond. We're bringing new data center capacity online through third-party facilities, strategic partnerships, and owned sites to keep pace with demand for high-performance GPU compute. Every new site we open starts with someone finding it, qualifying it, contracting it, and getting it ready to receive hardware.
That person is you.
We're looking for a Data Center Expansion Manager to own the end-to-end process of identifying and delivering new data center capacity for Verda. This is a technical, commercial, and operational role — you'll spend significant time on-site, deep in technical due diligence, working through contracts, and driving shortlisting and tendering processes across multiple markets simultaneously.
What you'll do
Lead the identification, evaluation, and shortlisting of new data center capacity across European and global markets — third-party facilities, build-to-suit opportunities, and strategic partnerships.
Conduct detailed technical site assessments: power infrastructure, cooling systems, fiber connectivity, redundancy architecture, rack density capacity, and physical security. You do this in person, on-site, not from a desk.
Own the tendering and procurement process for new capacity, RFI/RFP preparation, vendor shortlisting, commercial negotiation, and contract review through to execution.
Review and redline facility agreements, power contracts, and service schedules understanding what you're committing Verda to before anything is signed.
Build and maintain a live pipeline of evaluated and pre-qualified sites across target markets, so Verda is never reacting to capacity needs at the last minute.
Coordinate with Construction, DC Operations, Hardware, Procurement, and Legal to move a site from identified to contracted to operationally ready.
Develop and maintain relationships with DC operators, landlords, utility providers, and real estate brokers in active markets.
Produce clear technical and commercial evaluation reports that give leadership what they need to make fast, confident decisions.
What we're looking for
Required
6+ years in data center capacity acquisition, technical real estate, or infrastructure procurement with hands-on experience across multiple European markets.
Strong technical foundation: you can assess a facility's power and cooling infrastructure yourself, identify gaps, and know what questions to ask when something doesn't add up.
Direct experience running tendering and shortlisting processes, RFI/RFP drafting, commercial evaluation, supplier negotiation.
Comfortable reviewing and negotiating facility and power contracts, you don't need Legal to explain every clause to you.
Willingness and ability to travel frequently to sites across Europe, including markets that are not yet mature DC hubs.
Strong plus
Experience evaluating high-density GPU or HPC facilities — understanding of 140kW+ per rack power requirements, liquid cooling readiness, and InfiniBand-compatible infrastructure.
Existing relationships with major European DC operators and capacity brokers.
Familiarity with Nordic power markets — grid connection processes, renewable energy availability, substation capacity timelines.
Experience moving from technical evaluation through full contract execution on multiple simultaneous deals.
What we offer
Ownership of one of the most consequential functions at a fast-expanding European AI infrastructure company. The sites you find and contract become Verda's infrastructure for years.
A highly autonomous role with real decision-making influence: your technical assessments and commercial recommendations reach leadership directly.
Frequent travel across Europe with the freedom to build your own market relationships and pipeline.
Competitive compensation and equity, benchmarked against senior IC roles in European infrastructure.
A company that is genuinely committed to renewable energy. Our site selection criteria aren't a marketing checklist, they're operational requirements.
What's next
We're building fast and this role needs the right person behind it. There's no artificial deadline, but when we find who we're looking for, we move. If this sounds like your next move, apply now.
